Abstract
Three External Quality Assessment trials which composed of 14 control urines (6 chemical materials, 5 photographs of urinary sediment, 3 hCG test materials) for interlaboratory quality control/assessment in urinalysis were performed with 299
participants in the year of 1993.
The survey results are summarized as follows:
1. There is no difference between home made control materials and commercial ones in biochemical test.
2. The performance of biochemical test were good and the average of concordance rate were high.
3. The results of positive samples of bilirubin revealed the low concordance rate. The most contributable reason for that seemed to originated from the different grade ad sensitivity of the reagent strip.
4. in case of specific gravity, the participants of using chemical method were increased.
5. In quality control of urinary sediment, some paticipants seemed to have not the criteria of clsssification of epithelial cells.
6. Many participating laboratories used EIA methods in testing the hCG and the concordance rate was high.
